great intro, which sorts and lists the essentials

This short introductory book presents a major asset to the seeker of personal growth. Unfortunately, today's book market presents not only valuable books but also a lot of copy-cat work from charlatans. Tom Butler-Bowdon's "The Literature of Possibility (trailer): An Introduction" sorts and lists the essential books worth reading, also quoting significant statements of their authors, which allow the reader to choose the right book.
As Tom points out so eloquently, "Perhaps the most important success strategy, and yet the simplest, is to choose a path that expresses our personality and abilities in the fullest way. The world provides endless possibilities for making it more efficient, more humane, more beautiful." By providing a guide of many of "the endless possibilities" Tom provides a great service to readers. I also loved that he noted the value of reading autobiographies; indeed much wisdom can be adopted from them because autobiographies offer actual, tested and lived applications.
In his final chapter "The Power of One" Tom Butler-Bowdon gives all of us reason to take our pick of the noted books to strive for personal growth.
Looking forward to reading more from the author. This book is highly recommended to all, who know their goal or after reading this book will find a reason to look for personal growth.
