The last book is the best of all

I wrote one review and can't seem to find it listed anywhere, maybe because I negatively reviewed one book, so I will try again. So here it is again.
This contains 3 books. Rules of Parenting, Nobody Told Me That, and How Your Child Thinks. The last book was written by a psychologist, the first 2 are written by professional writers (meaning they have written other books on other topics, and have had no professional experience with children)
The middle book, 'Nobody Told Me That' contains the author's bio: "Ronny is widely admired by everyone who knows her...knowing just the right thing to say and do in every situation" (I cut out even more groan inducing statements for brevity). Well, that sets the tone for the book. It is very condescending and judgmental. It is very hard to get through and reminds me of every judgmental and competitive mother I have ever come across. She gives a lot of things you should or shouldn't do, but doesn't bother to inform anyone on how to do it. Her story in the "Teach them to think" section had me either rolling my eyes or laughing on the floor. I think she made the story up because it is completely convoluted. Her idea for teaching kids right from wrong is having them read a lot. Children who play video games can't have 'magical moments' this is her idea of what she thinks a magical moment should look like (and this is speaking from someone who doesn't play video games, this section is so opinionated)
First book had some great tidbits, like "parenting is not a competitive sport" Some other tidbits are interesting and helpful. Interestingly, I thought the author of the second book should have read the first book, maybe she could glean some advice for the next time she chooses to write something.
The last book is excellent, I have read it twice now, highlighting sections to keep on hand. Helpful tips to teach your child assertiveness, compassion, anger control, and confidence. Even if you may have read a book like this before, it is a great addition because it is easy to read and breakdown. There are tips are points after every section to review and I have successfully used tips with my child, and she told me they 'worked' for her. So I highly recommend.
So get this for the first and third books. You may like the second book, but I did not care for it at all.
