A Version of History Worth Knowing About

Its no secret that America is in trouble. And this book let's you know that it didn't happen over night. I like how Perloff starts right off with Pearl Harbor and winds his way to more contemporary topics like Geoengineering.
Perloff presents his cases in fairly easy to understand language. Its an easy read. Interestingly, he has taken the liberty to include a little character that pops up criticizing him when the text gets too "crazy". I sighed when I first saw that, thinking it was kind of corny, but I soon came to appreciate it.
The one thing that I think holds this book back is its inclusion of the author's spiritual perspective. He is decidedly Christian. But of course, those who hold the same belief will only love the book more! For those that approach this book with an open mind and are not prejudiced by this, you will be rewarded with an interesting ( oh, let's just call a spade a spade: mind blowing) well researched history.
I really want this book in hard copy so that I can put it on my shelf for reference.
If you have ever had the opportunity to see Mr. Perloff speak, this book covers much of what he conveys during his presentation.
This book is NOT for you if are disturbed by versions of history that don't synch with what you have learned in school or what you are exposed to via corporate media.

Truth is a lonely Warrior.

Any reader interested in politics will eventually come to the conclusion that some things don't add up. Especially after several years have passed, new information becomes available and things haven't turned out as we were led to believe they would at the time .
This book, while not going into a full depth discussion on each subject, does give us a grounding on what went on behind the scenes to send countries into more wars to satisfy the megalomaniacs who promote such things for their own desires for power and money.
Because this book doesn't give an in depth study of each subject it does provide an excellent primer to encourage a far deeper investigation into what went on behind the scenes to promote war. There are many historians who have bravely sought their own information from hard to access archives and interviewing people who were around at the time. Historians such as David Irving spring to mind. A man who obviously got too close to the truth on many occasions and his career as a writer suffered accordingly. Using this book as a guide I would encourage readers to seek out the works of other genuine historians such as Irving or Douglas Reed to follow up their interest. The results will be enlightening and perhaps depressing but as the saying goes, "know the truth, for the truth shall set you free".
